I know it sounds crazy but I just love photographing weddings in the rain and on this day it rained pretty much all day. Wet weddings, from a photography perspective, work great with stunning locations like Hoghton Tower. Delighted that Holly & Liam had chosen such amazing venues for their big day. So after a lovely family wedding ceremony on the Flylde Coast we made our way to Hoghton Tower close to Preston for a stunning wedding reception and party.
Hoghton Tower must rank as one of the most historic wedding venues in the country and what a pleasure it is to photograph a wedding in this castle set high on a hill with fantastic views of the Lancashire countryside. Its simply stunning and seems to look even better in the rain… I love this place.
So with two great locations and a fantastic bride and groom who were never going to let a bit of rain dampen their spirits we were all set for a great wedding. We were also blessed with some great wedding guests who were more bothered about having fun than staying dry…… a pretty good day was had by all, I know we enjoyed every second.
Here are some pictures from Holly & Liam’s wedding day.
